Understanding emissions scopes
Greenhouse gas emissions are classified into three scopes, based on your company’s level of control.
Scope 1
Includes direct emissions from your company-owned sources like fuel combustion and manufacturing.
Scope 2
Covers indirect emissions from purchased energy, such as electricity and heating.
Scope 3
Encompasses all other indirect emissions across your value chain, including supply chain activities, product use, and disposal.
